Protection of Indigenous Cultural Places Training Program

Client: Australian Cultural Development Office, (AIATSIS, Australian Nature Conservation Agency and Australian Heritage Commission)

Location/s: Canarvon Gorge, Mission Beach (Qld)

Assisted in this project, developing a questionnaire into training needs, assisting with the development of the training program, and the delivery of two two-week residential training programs for practitioners and community members. This training program was later run (usually biannually) as part of the James Cook University Cultural Resources Masters Degree program.

National Parks and Wildlife Handback Guidelines

Client: NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service

Location/s: Sydney (NSW)

Consultation with key stakeholders about the development of process guidelines for hand-back of gazetted lands to Aboriginal owners under Schedule 14 of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. Key stakeholders included NPWS, NSW Land Council and the Registrar of the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act.
